Class Information

My regular Yoga classes in Windermere and Ambleside welcome everybody. I provide an inclusive and non-intimidating environment and teach a range of students from complete beginners to experienced Yogis and Yoginis. I believe everyone should be able to gain something positive from the practice, regardless of ability and experience. I do not label my classes as I deliver a variety of styles of Yoga over time. Some weeks the classes are more strength focused, other times more restorative, and sometimes more flowing in nature. Each week offers something different!

"Yoga classes in Windermere and Ambleside"

inclusive and non-intimidating environment

My Yoga classes start by lying down, quietening the mind and finding a connection between the breath and the body. Working through a sequence of asana (Yoga postures) cultivating a continued breath led movement, we progress through a variety of kneeling, standing, lying, inversions, back bends and seated postures. The class always includes savasana (relaxation), before slowly returning to the breath and finishing with a seated posture and honouring our practice. We end the class with 'Namaste' - The light and love within me bows and honours the light and love within you.

"Yoga classes vary from week to week, focusing on different themes, asana or muscle groups"

The classes vary from week to week, focusing on different themes, asana or muscle groups. My mainstream classes are generally 90 minutes long and are suitable for all, but I can tailor private classes to suit individual and group needs, i.e. classes designed for runners or cyclists. Classes that are more focused on relaxation or more dynamic and yang in practice.

My method of teaching often requires the use of a number of props that I provide for each class, including mats, blocks, bolsters, straps, and even eye masks (for relaxation), but feel free to bring your own if you have them.

"clean, peaceful and warm space to aid relaxation"

The venues that I teach in have been purposely selected for their location, surrounding beauty and teaching environment. I believe that it is important to have a clean, peaceful and warm space to aid relaxation and a deeper sense of connection to the self. The Footprint Building in Windermere has a wonderfully large wood burner, heating the room all-year round, while the Wesley Room in Ambleside Parish Centre benefits from underfloor heating; both are beautifully cozy in the winter months.

 Namaste
