Birthday Yoga Workshop

Yesterday I led a full day workshop for a friends 40th birthday celebration at the Footprint Building in Windermere. A lovely idea for herself and her good pals to spend the day practising Yoga and being in each others company. This group of women coming together for a mutual friend brought about a wonderful energy to the day.

The day had a light hearted feel, and a lot of laughs. It included a mixture of Pranayama (Breathing Exercises), Asana (Yoga Postures), self care, massage, partner work, strength work and relaxation. It was lovely to encourage the students to work with each other to achieve more height and length in Adho Mukha Svanasana (Downward Facing Dog), hold a longer balance in Ardha Chandrasana (Half Moon Pose) and massage each others backs whilst in Balasana (Childs Pose). The massaging seemed to go down very well - so we did this twice!

After the last two hours of the day practising pure Yin Yoga, and ending with a long relaxation in Savasana (Corspe Pose), the birthday girl organised a glass of prosecco and slice of carrot cake - what a treat!

I absolutely loved leading the day and I am already looking forward to my next workshop on Sunday 1st May, in a yurt at Sunny Brow Farm. 

Sorry guys, next time theres no prosecco - just the herbal teas! 😉
